Lightweight RV Storage Organizers That Just Make Sense: IKEA SKUBB Series

In a tiny travel trailer, weight matters just as much as space. So when it comes to RV storage organizers, we are always looking for solutions that are lightweight, easy to adapt, and versatile. That is exactly why the IKEA SKUBB drawer organizers have become a go-to for us all over the trailer.
Small space. Lightweight storage. Less frustration.

Plus, don’t miss the section below of SIX other IKEA items we love in our trailer!
Why We Love the IKEA SKUBB Series as RV Storage Organizers

The SKUBB drawer organizers, priced as I type this at $9.99 Canadian, come in a six pack with a mix of three sizes, which makes them very versatile in small spaces. We use the same set in multiple places throughout our trailer.
What makes them work so well for RV life:
Perfect for Awkward RV Storage Spaces
One of our favourite uses is in the front overhead storage shelf for clothes. Near the roof, it has a curved, arched shape that makes it hard to use rigid bins without having dead space.

The SKUBB organizers are soft sided and flexible, so they squish just enough to fit the curve without wasting anything.
Easy to Use, Easy to Store

We have a full SKUBB six-pack set in the trailer, organizing everything from spices in the pantry to corralling our charge cords and phones beside the bed. Unseen ones under the dinette seats and in the bathroom help keep things from moving around, without adding any precious weight.
And when we are not using them, they unzip and store flat, which is a huge win in a small trailer where empty bins still take up space.
Simple RV Storage That Adapts
The IKEA SKUBB drawer organizers quietly solve a lot of our RV storage problems without adding weight.
If you are looking for simple, flexible RV storage organizers that work with the weird shapes inside a trailer instead of fighting them, these are hard to beat.
More IKEA SKUBB Options for RV Storage Organizers
One of the great things about the IKEA SKUBB series is how many different sizes and shapes there are to choose from. That makes them super versatile for an RV, where every bit of space is unique.
Here is the collection that we think work really well as RV storage organizers: https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/cat/skubb-series-12555/

- Different Sizes and Shapes
The SKUBB series includes everything from small narrow bins to shoe boxes to hanging organizers. There’s even a great little laundry bag in a stand! Lots of different ideas and compartments to organize your many vacation essentials. - Two Neutral Colours
You can pick SKUBB organizers in classic white or a grey tone. The neutral palette blends into most RV interiors without making a space look busy or cluttered. - Mix and Match for Specific Spots
As it is part of a series in the same colour schemes and style across different storage options, you could make a really cohesive look wherever you tackle organizing!
Whether you need bins for pantry overflow, camping gear, cleaning supplies, or kid stuff, there’s probably a SKUBB size that fits the spot!
Honourable Mentions: Other IKEA Finds That Bounce Along With Us In The Trailer
We’re still newbies to trailering and RV life, but these other items have happy spots in our trailer. These are not full deep dives, just quick highlights, but each one solves a small problem and adds up to better vacations.
MÖJLIGHET Bed Pocket $9.99
Meant to hang off a rail or lip edge, we were able to bend the three metal hooks on the back to work on our bungee overhead storage. These hanging pockets organize all our DVDs and remotes, nighttime grab items, diaper change bits, and lots more.
VESKEN Rolling Cart $14.99
At 7 1/16″ wide, this little cart on wheels has been great for organizing our outside without taking up playing space. Holes on every shelf means any rain drains through and raised walls keep things from falling off.
IKEA also has two other small shelf units without the wheels, including a super functional corner unit.
KALAS Series of Kid’s Tableware
Plates or Bowls or Cups $1.99/6 pack
Cutlery $1.99/18 pcs
Durable, easy to clean, and impact resistant all are great keywords for the plates, bowls, and cutlery that come along with us on every trip. Food stays in, utensils have great shapes for little mouths… Plus the price can’t be beat.
RINNIG Scrub Brush $1.99
I know, I know, a dishwashing brush? But this little thing has earned its spot over other brushes and sponges. A round head with scraper does a great job, plus the suction cup end helps it stick somewhere to dry.
Plus, the kids always steal it for their water mat play. (Double duty?!)
STENKOL / LADDA Rechargeable Batteries and Charger
AAA $4.99/4 pack AA $5.99/4 pack
Dual Charger $9.99
We always take emergency batteries for the remotes, thermometers, and kid’s toys. These rechargeable sets mean less weight to carry and now never forgotten, perfect for our trailer. The charger can do both battery sizes and charge 1-4 at once with auto shut off.
SKOLÄST Extendable Sink Container $3.99
Practical design that can stay out of the way in a (tiny!) sink while you do the dishes. This skinny container holds our Magic Eraser, scrub brush, straw cleaning brushes, and sometimes the kid’s freshly discovered rock treasures. Plus the new design from IKEA has a swing arm to dry a dishcloth.
